Dr. Ravid Doron (Ph.D.)
Senior Lecturer
Dr. Ravid Doron holds a B.Sc. in Optometry from Bar-Ilan University and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Medical Sciences from Tel Aviv University. She is the Head of the M.Sc. Program in Vision Science and Optometry at the Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College.
Her research focuses on the development of the visual system in children and on visual perception in normal and pathological conditions. In recent years, her work has focused in particular on the mechanisms underlying the development and progression of myopia during childhood and adolescence. Her studies are conducted in collaboration with researchers from academic institutions in Israel and abroad.
Dr. Doron teaches in the undergraduate and graduate optometry programs, supervises students in the department clinics and in clinical and research projects, and serves on several academic committees and on the Ethics Committee of the Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College for the approval of clinical studies. She led the Evidence-Based Practice program within the OCULUS project of the European Union’s Erasmus program and continues to promote and implement this approach in teaching and clinical training. Dr. Doron is a member of the Israeli Council of Optometrists, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), and a reviewer for international scientific journals in the field of vision science.

Dr. Rema Shabany-Khayyat (OD)

Rema Shabany- Khayyat, O.D.
Doctor of Optometry scince 1998. She Obtained her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology, from the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the University of Missouri- St. Louis, U.S.A.
She has been teaching at Hadassah Academic college since 2001 and was appointed as a full time faculty member at HAC in 2005. She is an experienced clinician and educator in the field.

Dr. Reut Yifrach (Ph.D.)

Dr. Ifrah is an optometrist with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Optometry from Hadassah Academic College, a Master’s degree in medical neurobiology from the Hebrew University and a Doctoral degree in Optometry from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in collaboration with Hadassah Academic College.
She has been teaching at Hadassah Academic college since 2008 and is an active researcher in the field of meibomian gland dysfunction and dry eye.

Ms. Politi is a clinic instructor and lecturer at The Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College.
She is an optometry clinic director at Shaare Zedek Medical Center and a clinic instructor for optometry and medical students.
In addition, she's a director of a private clinic in Shaare Zedek that specializes in the fitting of specialty contact lenses and treatment of binocular issues among pediatric and geriatric patients.

Dr. Saleh Abu-raya (Ph.D.)

Dr. Saleh Abu-Raya Obtained his B.Sc. degree (in Biology), M.Sc. (Endocrinology), and PhD (Pharmacology), from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dr. Abu-Raya teaches several courses at Hadassah Academic college since 2000 as part of the graduate programs, in the Department of Optometry: ( General Pharmacology, Ocular Pharmacology), Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences: (Pharmacology, Endocrinology, Seminar), Department of Biotechnology: (Pharmacology and Drug Metabolism, Physiology of the Endocrine System).
Other Activities of Dr. Abu-Raya at Hadassah Academic College:

- Academic advisor for third year students in the Medical Laboratory Sciences Department
- Academic advisor for students from Arab society
Dr. Abu-Raya has published many papers in the international scientific journals on the fields of:
1)Phospholipase A2 and their involvement in exocytosis in PC12 cells.
2)Synthesis and release of prostaglandis under ischemic conditions.
3) the neuroprotective effect of Rasagiline, a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, on
NGF-differentiated PC12 cells against oxygen-glucose deprivation.

Dr. Shlomit Zorani (Ph.D)
Lecturer
Dr. Shlomit Zorani, Ph.D., is a lecturer in the Optometry program at Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College (JMC), where she teaches courses in visual perception, ocular pharmacology, and optics. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Optometry and Vision Science from Bar-Ilan University, and a Ph.D. in Medical and Health Sciences from Tel Aviv University. Currently, Dr. Zorani is a post-doctoral researcher at the Joseph Sagol Neuroscience Center, focusing on developing methods to quantify apathy in individuals at high risk of dementia. Her research interests include facial perception, cognition, and pain empathy. Dr. Zorani is committed to advancing her academic career and making a meaningful impact in her field.
