Congratulations to Dr. Keren Levi Ganani-Snyder on the publication of her paper, "From Perception to Policy Support: Public Situation Awareness and the Sustainability of Critical Infrastructure", co-authored with her colleagues and accepted for publication in the journal Sustainability.

The study examines how the public interprets systemic threats under conditions of uncertainty and how this interpretation influences support for policies aimed at maintaining operational continuity. In the paper, the researchers introduce the concept of Public Situation Awareness as a cognitive process connecting the perception of threat information, the understanding of its collective implications, and the projection of systemic impacts—ultimately driving support for government policies designed to protect critical infrastructure.

The findings are based on a survey conducted in Israel in April 2024, amidst a period of high uncertainty surrounding the threat of a large-scale attack on national infrastructure in the context of the conflict with Iran.
