Understanding Haredi Students: JMC Scholars Explore Narratives and Challenges in New Publication
This month, Tel Aviv University hosted the launch of the book “The Haredim: A Reexamination of the Israelization Narrative” (De Gruyter Brill), edited by Prof. Uria Shavit.
Dr. Sarah Zaltzberg and Dr. Daniel Weisshoth from the Department of Psychology, along with Moshe Baruch Blackman, a Social Work alumnus from Strauss Campus, presented lectures on their respective chapters. In a packed auditorium, Dr. Zaltzberg shared anthropological research on the Haredi community and its medical institutions. Dr. Weisshoth and Moshe Baruch presented research based on narrative analysis and autoethnography, examining the challenges faced by Haredi students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
