Congratulations to Dr. Orly Kurtzband and Dr. Kati Fried on the publication of their article
Congratulations to Dr. Orly Kurtzband and Dr. Kati Fried from the Department of Biotechnology on the publication of their article, Nanoemulsion-Enhanced Cardiac Delivery of Omega-3 Fatty Acids Reduces Myocardial Fibrosis and Improves Diastolic Function in a Murine HFpEF Model, in the journal Precision Nanomedicine.
The article presents a novel method for delivering omega-3 fatty acids directly to the heart using a nanoemulsion formulation in a mouse model of heart disease caused by obesity and chronic hypertension. The treatment enhanced the delivery of omega-3 fatty acids to the heart muscle, reduced myocardial fibrosis (scarring), and improved cardiac function. These findings are significant because they demonstrate that nanoformulations have the potential to make existing therapies more effective and support the development of new treatments for a wide range of diseases.
