Optometry in Action: Hareidi Students from JMC’s Strauss Campus Visit Hadassah’s Multidisciplinary Eye Departments

First-year Hareidi optometry students from the Strauss Campus recently took part in a professional tour at Hadassah Medical Center, Ein Kerem.
The tour was led by Dr. Hadas Ben-Eli, Head of the Optometry Department at JMC and Director of Optometry at Hadassah, Dr. Reut Yifrach, Head of the Optometry Program at Strauss Campus, and program alumni.
During the visit, students toured operating rooms, the Michelson Low Vision Institute, and various eye clinics, observing how optometrists work as integral members of multidisciplinary teams alongside ophthalmologists in departments such as cornea and retina.
The tour offered a firsthand look at the clinical environment, showcased the wide range of professional opportunities in optometry, and provided an enriching and inspiring experience that boosted the students’ motivation and enthusiasm for their field.
