The Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College recently held its first Innovation Conference, an exciting milestone that showcased the institution’s strong commitment to cross-disciplinary thinking and creativity.
The conference was initiated and led by Dr. Vered Uziel, Director of The Blender and Head of the Public Policy and Administration track at the School of Management, in partnership with Dr. Liat Gantz, Head of the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, and Yael Catalan, Director of International Relations. More than 90 faculty members attended, along with senior leadership and distinguished guests.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Eli Bachar, Chair of the Executive Board, and Prof. Ariela Gordon-Shag, President of the College. The keynote address was given by Dr. Sharon April, member of the Executive Board and Director of the Government Unit for Digital Advancement in Local Government at Israel’s National Digital Directorate and Ministry of the Interior. Zohar Shalev of the Inclusive Industrial Design program also spoke about design thinking and its practical impact.
The conference featured three main sessions:
Innovation and Digital Transformation in the Public Sector focused on organizational change, service design, and management innovation.
Innovation in Healthcare explored the integration of design, management, technology, and research in healthcare systems.
Innovation in Teaching, held as a panel discussion, examined innovative pedagogy, experiential learning, and the use of creative tools in the classroom.
The conference marked a significant step forward in strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, deepening ties between academia, the public sector, and the healthcare system, and positioning Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College as a leading hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and forward-thinking education.
