The Department of Politics and Communication at Jerusalem Multidisciplinary College, in collaboration with CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis), recently hosted a timely event addressing one of academia’s most urgent challenges: the rise of antisemitism, delegitimization, and disinformation on campuses worldwide following October 7.

The panel—featuring Prof. Gil Troy, Dr. Dan Diker, and Shilat Cohen—explored the academic, media, and organizational dimensions of this phenomenon and its impact on students, student organizations, and the broader academic environment.

Daniel Ben Ami closed the discussion with a talk titled “Why does the media so often twist the narrative when it comes to Israel?”, highlighting how identity politics can distort reporting, downplay the horrors of October 7, and shift blame away from Hamas.

This event underscored that the challenge goes beyond media coverage—it reflects a cultural shift affecting universities, politics, and everyday conversation.
