At the end of November, Trinity Divert, a speech-language pathologist from Bridging Voice, gave a seminar at the Department of Communication Disorders. Divert is an expert in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)—methods, tools, and technologies that provide alternative communication options for individuals with speech difficulties.
In her lecture, Divert presented Bridging Voice’s work in making AAC technologies accessible to people living with neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS, and explained how the organization helps remove barriers that prevent access to these technologies.
The department faculty gained valuable clinical insights and inspiration from her engaging presentation. We hope that this connection will lead to fruitful collaborations in the future.
