“Project 929 – Tanakh Together,” the Israeli educational initiative for daily Tanakh study led by Rabbi Benny Lau, brings the study of the Tanakh to the wider public, engaging both religious and secular communities. A special study group from the project now operates at the Adler Aphasia Center, part of the Department of Communication Disorders at JMC. This innovative rehabilitative-social program provides people with chronic aphasia the opportunity to learn and engage with the Tanakh, using a variety of expressive tools and unique language accessibility methods.

On Jerusalem Day, the 929 group from the center participated in a study session at the President’s Residence. At the conclusion of the meeting, the center presented President Herzog’s family with a guidebook on communicating with people with aphasia. Recently, the center received a response letter from President Isaac Herzog, expressing gratitude for the book, acknowledging its importance in making the challenges faced by the center’s members more accessible, and warmly wishing them many more years of meaningful, supportive community engagement.
