In November, JMC optometry students Amir Mymi, Lorin Bazazo, and Lilach Shashonov, accompanied by Dr. Reut Yifrach, visited the Czech Republic as part of the department’s Excellence Program.

During their trip, they met local Master’s students and took part in hands-on professional activities, including tours of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Optics, visits to the TyfloCentrum low-vision clinic and the Ottlens multidisciplinary eye clinic, and a workshop on diagnosing and treating dry eye led by Dr. Yifrah. They also explored optics lab experiments, toured the Čivice lens manufacturing facility, and learned about local optometry practices and the history of Olomouc University.

The experience enriched the students’ knowledge, highlighted international differences in optometry practice, and provided valuable professional exposure. Special thanks to Dr. Hadas Ben-Eli, Dr. Liat Gantz, Ms. Yael Catalan, and the JMC International Office for making this initiative possible.
