On April 3rd, Jerusalem’s Train Theater hosted the premiere of Staging the Front, a groundbreaking production featuring nine IDF reservists sharing personal wartime stories through short plays they wrote themselves. The first performance of its kind in Israel, the project emerged from a unique writing workshop led by playwright Nadav Roziewicz, a faculty member at JMC’s Department of Photographic Communication, with artistic guidance by Ruth Hof.

From a paramedic spending her honeymoon alone in Gaza to a soldier coping with loss, the audience encountered raw, authentic voices rarely heard. Held in partnership with the Jerusalem Municipality’s Theatre Department and the International Train Theater Festival, the event offered an unfiltered, emotional stage for those who serve.
