In vitro fertilization (IVF) is considered one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving fields in medical laboratory science. The collaboration between the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences and the Israeli Society for Fertility Research (ISFR) has produced a unique program—the first of its kind in the country—that integrates in-depth academic content in the field of fertility. Current topics, such as the integration of AI technology in fertility treatments and fertility care tailored for individuals who have experienced traumatic events, are covered in this course.

Now entering its fourth year, the program provides students in the department with the opportunity to explore this fascinating field, while offering professionals in the industry a chance to stay updated on innovations and maintain a high level of expertise.

Prof. Ayelet Arbel-Eden, head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, visited the IVF laboratories managed by Dr. Oshrat Shoneberger and Dr. Orna Bern. During her visit, she met many alumni of the department who are currently working in the laboratories and emphasized the sense of mission that accompanies their daily work.
