BioXplore is an international project led by Professor Bertold Fridlender and Dr. Gil Joseph from Hadassah College, and funded by the European Union. The project's goal is to promote socio-economic development in the region by exploring potential purposes for herbal medicine obtained from Mediterranean flora.

The project was launched earlier this year in Jerusalem in the presence of the project's partners: the Palestinian Authority, Greece, Spain and researchers and supporters from the University of North Carolina and Rutgers University.

The initial project was created in Jerusalem. The Israeli group held a workshop nationally in February and one is planned for April with foreign partners. The workshops involve touring the country to collect samples of plants. College students and guests from abroad, travel with botanists, Dr. Mira Paran, president of the Israeli Association for medicinal plants and Mr. Dan Bolotin from Tel Aviv.
